WEARING A BOLD BLUE SUIT

Picture
The bold blue suit is what we call the fifth essential. After the light gray, navy blue, charcoal and black this would be a go to in your wardrobe. With it being such a bolder color, what do you wear with it? We have a few suggestions for a basic starting point until you are comfortable branching out.

THE FIFTH ESSENTIAL SUIT

The bold blue or the true blue is a stand out. Whether you are across the room or up close, this suit is going to pop. The goal with a bold blue is to not have it compete with other bold colors or patterns. That means you should be going with a white shirt, light blue shirt or pastel pink. The classic colors will help you stay stylish without going overboard.

DO NOT COMPETE

A bold red shirt or other loud colored shirt will compete with the bold blue of the suit. That is where having a white shirt and pocket square tones down the outfit and allows that blue to do what it does, stand out. The light blue or light pink shirt will do the same thing, it will tone down the outfit.

BRINGING IN BOLD COLORS

Bold colors should be saved for the accessories. A bold red tie, which I call the "Governmental Look" goes really well with the blue suit, white dress shirt and white pocket square. You can bring in bold colors with a pattern on the dress shirt or accessories, or even the lining of the jacket. If you are new to bolder colors this is a great starting point for you.

CONCLUSION

Do not compete with bold colors or patterns, no more than two in your suit is our golden rule. If you have any advice or questions please feel free to comment below, we love connecting with you.
