"HOW TO GET AHEAD PROFESSIONALLY COMING OUT OF COVID...
COVID is going to change a lot of things including professional clothing. In this post we will discuss what we believe is going to happen after meeting with clients, having phone calls with professionals and studying trends. There will be what we believe is going to happen, and how you can take advantage of it.
1.) EVERYTHING WILL START RELAXEDZoom calls are taking over the world and the calls we have been on become more and more relaxed. Guys started with suit and tie, up top at least, but quickly lost the tie, than the jacket and now they wear a t-shirt. Coming back to work some people may take advantage of the relaxed rules over Zoom calls. A tie will become optional with blazers, sport jackets and suit making a brief exit.
2.) TIES WILL BECOME OPTIONALI don't believe many companies are requiring ties while you are working from home. This will carry into the office. The best thing to do, add a pocket square instead. It completes the outfit and shows attention to detail. Having a few essential white pocket squares are the perfect start, put them in your pocket and never take them out.
3.) LIMITED, VERSATILE WARDROBES WILL WINWith more employees opting to work from home means they won't have need for such a large wardrobe. Choosing the fabrics and fit wisely will save money, time and closet space. Essential fabrics like navy, charcoal, light grey and yes, even brown, works with most of your dress shirt colors. Building a high quality, versatile professional wardrobe will keep you looking stylish in all settings.
4.) THE BEST DRESSED WILL WIN
Top firms and sales teams will be quick to put the relaxed rules to an end but we suggest changing nothing, starting now. It is proven time and time again that the best dressed Gentleman are the ones who advance in their career quicker. If you are leaning towards being more relaxed, don't. Have your suits tailored, build your wardrobe appropriately for your industry and learn simple style rules.
Point 4 sums this up nicely, your outfits matter. You can control the first impression and stand out from the competition by simply dressing well. Tailored, pressed, and simple fabrics will keep you ahead.
